Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Her brothers are younger as well as an older sister. She was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents had relocated to Bahrain in the 80s because of civil unrest in Sri Lanka. She received a scholarship to go to in the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her schooling in Bahrain. An avid lover of different cultures and languages, she enrolled in Berlitz Language School where she learned Spanish and honed her French as well as Arabic. In 2006, she won Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006. She also participated at Miss Universe 2006. Following her win of the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television and hosted a program on Sri Lanka's business known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and grew up in Bangalore. When she was a teenager she was a badminton player in the national championships, but she ended her professional career to pursue a career as a model. Padukone hails from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Padukone Village is situated in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District in Karnataka within India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international badminton player who retiring. Her mother is a travel agent.
